Axes is a skill based on using the axe tool as a weapon to fight mobs and other players. It adds more variety to gameplay by introducing a new type of weapon viable for many situations.

Axes can be very useful in PvP as it can quickly break armour and deal critical strikes. Depending on your axes level, it is possible to break armour at a very quick rate. Axes can also be very useful if you are fighting 1v2, as the active ability allows you to do AoE damage.

Abilities

- Active Ability: Skull Splitter

- Passive Abilities: Critical Strikes, Axe Mastery, Armour Impact, Greater Impact

Skull Splitter

With an Axe held in your hand, you can right-click a block, making your active ability ready for use. The ability will then get activated by hitting Mobs/Players. Skull Splitter allows you to do an AoE (Area of Effect) hit, damaging every one within a half blocks radius from your main target, dealing half the damage you are dealing to the main target. This can be great if you are in a 1v2 in PvP, or just clearing groups of mobs. This ability works for a limited amount of time starting out at 2 seconds, increasing by 1 second every 50 levels.

Critical Strike

Critical Strikes double the amount of damage you deal with your axe. This is great for eliminating high defense targets. The ability starts max out at 50%.

Axe Mastery

Axe Mastery inflicts more damage dependent on axe level. Axe mastery increases damage done from axes by 0.02 per level, capping at +4 bonus damage at level 200.

Armor Impact

Armor Impact increases the amount of damage an axe does to armor. This perk starts with an armor damage bonus, increasing by 0.02% per level in axes. (This number is always terminal)

Greater Impact

Greater Impact is a passive skill which in battle against mobs/players without armour, adds 2 extra damage (1 heart). Greater Impact also adds an extreme Knockback effect similar to Knockback II on a sword and makes an explosive sound when activated. Greater Impact has a 25% chance of being triggered each hit.

Note that many aspects of skills can be changed through a server's configuration file, meaning values shown here may be incorrect in some cases.

Experience

Hitting a naturally spawned mob yields experience according to the damage you deal to the mob times its multiplier. Note that some mobs may not give experience due to config changes or updates to Minecraft.

As XP can only be gained from attacking naturally spawned mobs, the most efficient way to gain axes experience is by building a large dark room, guardian farm or a large pigman farm.
